Summer Language Scholarships, Southeast Asian Studies Summer Institute University of Wisconsin-Madison

Deadline: February 15, 2016
For eligibility details, see: seassi.wisc.edu/Admission/seassi.htm.

With generous support from the Henry Luce Foundation, the Southeast Asian Studies Summer Institute is pleased to announce a new source of funding for language study at SEASSI: SEASSI Scholarships. The purpose of this funding is to support the language-learning needs of very promising graduate students with serious research interests in Southeast Asia, who are NOT studying at one of the eight federally-funded National Resource Centers for Southeast Asia (such as UCLA or UC Berkeley). This funding is designed to ensure that promising young scholars who want to pursue research and careers involving Southeast Asian Studies will do so with the benefit of rigorous language training at SEASSI. For Summer 2016, a SEASSI Scholarship consists of: 1) full payment of the SEASSI tuition, and 2) an $1100 summer living stipend. Fifteen SEASSI Scholarships will be awarded for summer 2016. To apply, go to the SEASSI online application form. SEASSI program and contact information is available at: seassi.wisc.edu.
For information on other fellowship and scholarship opportunities (FLAS, Tuition Scholarships) to study at SEASSI, go to: seassi.wisc.edu/Admission/finaid.htm
