Call for Papers: Association of Southeast Asian Studies in the UK, 29th Annual Conference

Call for paper proposals for the Association of South-East Asian Studies in the UK, 29th Annual Conference 2016, London, United Kingdom

ASEASUK is pleased to announce that its 29th Annual Conference will take place at SOAS, the University of London, UK from 16th to 18th September 2016. This conference provides a major venue for the dissemination of research on South-East Asia in various disciplines for academics from both the UK and abroad.

The venue, SOAS, the University of London, is located in the Russell Square area in central London within easy access of King’s Cross and Euston rail stations as well as the London tube’s Northern (Charing Cross Branch), Piccadilly, and Metropolitan Lines. The area has many accommodation options (please note, accommodation will not be arranged by the conference organisers).

Call for Paper Proposals
Following the call for panel proposals which has now closed, ASEASUK is now calling for papers, from scholars from both the UK and abroad, to further populate the accepted panels. A listing with descriptions of the accepted panels can be found at https://www.soas.ac.uk/cseas/aseasuk-conference-2016/accept-panel-proposals.html.
If your proposed paper is not a fit with an existing panel, there will be an individual papers panel for which papers are also invited. The deadline for paper proposals is 15 April 2016.   
Paper proposals for a panel should be directed to the organiser of the panel, their contact details listed below the panel title.
Paper proposals that do not fit a panel should be directed to Professor Michael Charney (SOAS) at mc62@soas.ac.uk.
Please note that only one paper per person is permitted for this conference. 

Online registration will open from 1 April 2016 and an ‘early bird’ rate will apply until 30 June 2016. Online registration will close on 12 September.
The registration fee covers access to all academic panels, roundtables, workshops, performances and the publisher’s display; lunch and refreshments, and a delegate pack including the conference programme. Delegates must additionally register for a one year membership of ASEASUK.

1 April 2016 Conference registration opens
30 June 2016 Early bird rates close.
1 July 2016 from this date, he full conference fee is payable from 1st July.
12 September 2016 Online registration will close.

The ASEASUK conference organisers retain the right to change details, deadlines, and the inclusion or not of particular papers or panels in the conference without prior notice.
