Postdoctoral Fellowships - Japanese Society for the Promotion of Science (JSPS)

The Japanese Society for the Promotion of Science (JSPS) awards about 120 fellowships for postdoctoral scholars to conduct research in Japan for 12-24 months. This program is aimed at providing support for cooperative research, under the guidance of Japanese hosts, at universities, inter-university research institutes, and science research corporations. Research topics on Southeast Asia are allowed.  Applicants may apply either through a host scientist in Japan or one of the two nominating authority in the United States: National Institutes of Health (NIH) or Social Science Research Council (SSRC). This program allows researchers to advance their own research while promoting scientific advancement in Japan and the counterpart countries through close collaboration in scientific activities.
